Our History

Elmer Doe was a man with eyesight so poor he couldn't recognize old friends he met in the street. Fortunately, this never affected his vision. Because when Doe escaped the rat race of New York City and quit J. Walter Thompson, he started his "little southern agency" in Louisville with three fundamental building blocks - hard work, integrity and perfection. That was way back in 1915. Doe-Anderson has been doing things the right way ever since.

Of course, it all starts with our people. And many of them have come here just as Elmer Doe did - escaping larger ad markets in search of a place where they can truly enjoy their lives while making a real difference in this business. Whether it's our work for clients such as Maker's Mark, Kohler, Sun Tan City or Louisville Slugger, that "real difference" is evident every day. We've won a slew of awards over the years, and - more important - we have an absolute proven history of growing brands.

Today, you'll find Doe-Anderson in the heart of downtown Louisville on historic Main Street. And if you care to look a little deeper, you'll find that we're doing more than just staying ahead of the game.
